proEXPLO 2026 Calls for Technical Papers on the New Challenges Shaping the Future of Mineral Exploration
The most innovative and outstanding projects will be selected by a technical committee for presentation during the event to be held in May next year.
Lima, October 28, 2025.- The Organizing Committee of the 15th International Congress of Prospectors and Explorers (proEXPLO 2026) announced that eight thematic areas have been defined for the technical papers to be presented at this edition. These themes reflect the key trends and priorities driving mineral exploration in the region.
Technical papers are one of the cornerstones of proEXPLO —the leading mineral exploration event in Latin America— serving as a high-level platform for professionals, researchers, consultants, students, and companies to share the results of their studies, projects, and exploration experiences.
The call for papers is open to mining exploration professionals interested in sharing innovations and advances in areas such as discoveries, technology, geoscience, market, environment, inclusion, and education. The evaluation committee, composed of leading industry experts, will review all submissions, and the results will be announced on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Main Areas of Focus
Led by geologist Adán Pino, president of the event, this edition seeks to foster knowledge generation, innovation, and technical exchange around the new challenges facing the mining industry, such as:
Discoveries and Advances in Greenfield and Brownfield Exploration Projects
Recent case studies highlighting discoveries and progress in the exploration of new deposits and the expansion of existing operations will be presented.Innovation and Technological Advances Applied to Mineral Resource Exploration
Topics such as advanced geophysics, artificial intelligence, geospatial analysis, remote sensing, and disruptive technologies that optimize resource discovery will be explored.Advances in Geoscientific Knowledge Applied to the Exploration of Mineral Systems
Emphasis will be placed on structural geology, mineralogy, geochemistry, and 3D modeling to better understand the metallogenic systems of Peru and the region.Raw Materials and Capital Markets
Global trends in mineral demand, investment flows, project financing, and factors influencing the sector’s competitiveness will be analyzed.Environment, Society, and Governance (ESG)
Discussions will address best practices in sustainability, community engagement, environmental management, and corporate governance in modern mineral exploration.Inclusion and Diversity
The participation of women, young people, and professionals from different regions in the geoscientific and mining fields will be encouraged, strengthening equal opportunities across the sector.Education
The training of new generations of geologists, engineers, and technicians will be promoted, along with stronger ties between academia, industry, and government.Legal Framework and Permits
Regulatory challenges, permitting processes, and public policies required to promote exploration investment with transparency and predictability will be examined.
