Alliances with two of the world’s most influential institutions in geosciences and mineral exploration consolidate proEXPLO’s position as a global technical and academic benchmark.
Lima, January 30, 2026.- The Organizing Committee of the 15th International Congress of Prospectors and Explorers (proEXPLO 2026) announced the signing of institutional cooperation agreements between the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP) -the event’s organizing institution-, the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG), and the Colorado School of Mines, two institutions of internationally recognized prestige in the field of mineral exploration and Earth sciences.
These strategic alliances aim to strengthen technical, academic, and scientific outreach collaboration, raising the standard of the proEXPLO 2026 technical program and consolidating its position as the most important mineral exploration event in Latin America.
The Agreements
Within the framework of the agreements, SEG and the Colorado School of Mines will actively contribute to proEXPLO through the participation of keynote speakers, invited lecturers, and international specialists, as well as through the organization of technical courses to be held before and/or after the congress. These activities will enable participants to access cutting-edge knowledge, global experience, and innovative approaches applied to mineral exploration.
For its part, the IIMP will provide the necessary academic, logistical, and promotional support, in addition to facilitating exhibition and interaction spaces within the event, ensuring an environment conducive to knowledge exchange and the development of high-level professional networks.
All activities contemplated under these agreements will be carried out in accordance with principles of environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and institutional integrity, values that are part of proEXPLO’s DNA and reinforce its commitment to modern, responsible mineral exploration aligned with global challenges.
The incorporation of internationally prestigious institutions such as SEG and the Colorado School of Mines strengthens the technical quality, academic reach, and global reputation of proEXPLO 2026, positioning it as a key platform for analysis, discussion, and projection of mineral exploration in a context of energy transition and global electrification.
