Sebastián is a geological engineer from the Colorado School of Mines in the USA and holds a master’s degree in Economic Geology from the ARC Centre of Excellence in Ore Deposits and Earth Sciences (CODES) at the University of Tasmania, Australia.

He has 13 years of experience in exploration, mainly focusing on copper deposits, with international experience in Zambia, Panama, and South America.

He was president of proEXPLO 2023.

Currently, Mr. Benavides is the Peru-Ecuador Discovery Manager at Anglo American, leading exploration teams in the region with the objective of making world-class copper deposit discoveries.

Previously, he has worked as Exploration Manager in Peru and Ecuador for First Quantum Minerals and has been a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) for the Geological Engineering program.

A geologist specializing in exploration, he graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería (UNI). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Heidelberg in Germany. He has 48 years of experience in mineral exploration across various locations in the Americas. He has held senior positions with Newmont, North Limited, and other international mining companies. He led the teams that discovered the Yanacocha gold district (1985) and the Galeno porphyry copper-gold deposits (1994). He has expertise in organizing and managing mining companies and operations of various types and varying levels of development and complexity. He is currently the president and CEO of Alturas Minerals Corp, a junior mining exploration company listed on the TSXV and the Lima Stock Exchange. He is also the founder and principal partner of the family conglomerate CP Group, which includes Exploandes, Geodrones, Helix Bios Peru, Explosupport, and IPC Salud, providing a variety of services to the mining, construction, energy, medical, and other business sectors.

Eugenio Ferrari is a mining executive with over 30 years of experience in the exploration and development of mining projects. He has worked in a wide range of geological environments and deposit types in Latin America, North America, Central Asia, and Australia, making significant contributions to the technical and economic aspects of various discoveries, project development, audits, mining investment evaluations, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Eugenio was the president of the XVII Peruvian Geological Congress (2014) and the president of the X International Congress of Prospectors and Explorers - proEXPLO 2017.

Work Experience

He is the CEO and director of Tintina Mines Limited and managing director of EFM Consulting S.A.C. He has previously held senior executive and corporate positions in medium and large mining companies.

Education

Ferrari holds a bachelor's degree in Geological Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires and an MBA from UOP, Arizona. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
