ProEXPLO 2025 to discuss new discoveries, innovation and technological advances in exploration

With a diverse program that includes keynote lectures and interactive activities, proEXPLO 2025 reaffirms itself as the main geological mining event in the region.

Lima, August 16, 2024. Under the title “Discovering mineral resources for a better world”, the International Congress of Prospectors and Explorers -proEXPLO 2025 will be held from May 5 to 7 next year, at the Lima Convention Center. Walter Tejada, president of the Organizing Committee, anticipates the participation of more than 1,500 attendees in this important mining exploration event.

The convention program will include a variety of activities, such as keynote speeches, technical paper presentations, expert lectures, round table discussions, and a technology and trade show. In addition, short courses and excursions to mining sites will be offered to provide participants with a comprehensive experience. This was pointed out by Tejada in the recent Jueves Minero (Mining Thursday) entitled “Progress of proEXPLO 2025 and the outlook for mining exploration in Peru”.

The core topics of proEXPLO 2025, organized by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP), will cover a wide range of areas, including technical aspects; capital markets and commodities; environment, society and governance; inclusion and diversity; and education.

Confirmed keynote speakers include M.Sc. Joe Mazumdar, Ph.D. Shaun Barker, Ph.D. Federico Cernuschi, and Ph.D. Regina Baumgartner. Prominent industry leaders will also participate, such as Víctor Gobitz, president of the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE); Miguel Cardozo, CEO of Alturas Mineral Corp; Ricardo Carrión, manager of Capital Markets at Kallpa Securities; and Roberto P. Xavier, executive director of ADIMB.

Another important announcement made by the president of proEXPLO 2025 is that to date more than 50% of the fair's booths have already been booked. So he invited companies to secure their space at the convention.

He also invited young talents to participate in the second SEG-SGA-IIMP International Contest for Student Presentations, which seeks to give recognition to undergraduate and graduate students in the field of academic research in prospecting and mineral exploration.
