Lima, August 27, 2024. The 14th International Congress of Prospectors and Explorers - proEXPLO 2025 presents a new edition of the SEG-SGA-IIMP International Contest for Student Presentations, which will award the best technical papers presented by undergraduate, masters and doctoral students.

This contest is supported by the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG), the Society for Geology Applied to Mineral Deposits (SGA) and the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP).

Students, geologists or geological engineers, of any nationality, who are enrolled in any university in the world by the year 2025 can submit the extended abstract of their technical paper and participate free of charge. It is important to note that works of a commercial or promotional nature will not be accepted.

The Technical Papers Committee (CTT) of the congress will evaluate the quality and scope of the abstracts and will select the presentation modality (oral or poster) to be developed by the author during proEXPLO 2025, where the award ceremony will also take place.

Awards

Awards will be given to the best undergraduate oral presentation, best graduate oral presentation, and best poster presentation.

Prizes will include an annual subscription to SEG and SGA, a free download of the SEG-edited digital publication, free registration to the 2025 SGA conference, access to an IIMP course or seminar of choice, and recognition in SEG Discovery magazine and SGA News.

How to participate?

You can apply until November 30 of this year. Applicants should send the abstract of their paper to coordtecnicaproexplo@iimp.org.pe, according to the requirements of the general procedure indicated for technical papers on the web page (https://proexplo.com.pe/proexplo2025/front/public/es/convocatoria-es).

The 14th International Congress of Prospectors and Explorers - proEXPLO 2025 is organized by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP). The event will be held in person from May 5 to 7, 2025, in the city of Lima, under the theme “Discovering mineral resources for a better world”.
