Lima, February 10, 2025. If you want to refresh your knowledge, registration continues for the second technical course to be held as part of the 14th International Congress of Prospectors and Explorers (proEXPLO 2025), organized by the Peruvian Institute of Mining Engineers (IIMP).

A total of 6 courses will be offered to geologists specialized in geochemistry, metallurgy, machine learning and geologists at the beginning of their professional life.

What will be the topic?

The second course “Geochemistry applied to mining exploration”, given by Federico Cernuschi, will be held on Sunday, May 4, prior to proEXPLO2025 and we advise participants to bring a laptop.

The course will be theoretical and practical, introducing basic aspects of geochemistry to interpret multi-element rock and soil compositional data to infer rock type and hydrothermal alteration. Real data will be worked on in groups, introducing the use of ioGAS software.

Federico Cernuschi is an independent consultant, specialized in geology and geochemistry of magmatic-hydrothermal processes, focusing on exploration and development of porphyry-type deposits, with studies at UDELAR, Uruguay and Oregon State University.

The IIMP informed that the courses will be given in Spanish through simultaneous interpretation and will have a duration of 8 hours each. Participants will receive a digital certificate.

Courses will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the IIMP institutional headquarters, located at Calle Los Canarios 155-157 Urb. San César, II Etapa - La Molina.
